Responsibilities

The Specialty Programs Medical Director is responsible for the oversight and supervision of clinical aspects of specialty programs and ensuring adherence and compliance with the clinical requirements outlined by HarmonyCares. Additionally, the Medical Director is responsible for the supervision and educational functions relative to the clinical aspects of care given by providers within the specialty program.

  • Directs and coordinates clinical aspects of care within the specialty program
  • Oversee the regulatory/compliance strategy and oversight related to clinical activities
  • Regularly performs random audits of clinical staff to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Supervises clinical staff to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, state laws and quality
  • Attends all required meetings and in-services
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Licensed Medical Professional
  • Must be currently enrolled in Medicaid in the state which applying
  • Medical Doctor
  • 1 year experience in Healthcare management
  • Experience with Risk Adjustment, Star and HEDIS measures
  • Must be able to relate professionally and positively to physicians, providers and staff with excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills
